Der Air Namibia-Flug von Frankfurt nach Windhoek von gestern ist heute Morgen nach Namibia abgehoben. Wie Air Namibia gegenüber Hitradio Namibia bestätigte, sei ein Streik der Fluglotsten in Frankreich schuld daran gewesen. Es sei keine Freigabe für die benötigte Flugroute gestern zu bekommen gewesen, hieß es. Die Maschine wird nun heute am Abend in Windhoek erwartet.
Das Stühlerücken im simbabwischen Kabinett wird weitere negative Einflüsse auf die Wirtschaft haben. Davon sind unabhängige internationale Wirtschaftsexperten überzeugt. Vor allem die Versetzung von Vizepräsident Emmerson Mnangagwa vom Justiz- und das Tourismusministerium werde von der Weltgemeinschaft negativ aufgenommen. Patrick Chinamasa wurde durch Innenminister Ignatius Chombo ersetzt. Chinamasa galt als Anhänger Mnangagwas im möglichen Rennen um das Staatspräsidentenamt.
Bei einer Explosion in einer Ölraffinerie im Westen der Türkei sind mindestens vier Menschen ums Leben gekommen. Zwei weitere wurden verletzt, so ein Behördensprecher. Dass ein Terrorangriff für die Explosion verantwortlich ist, schloss er aus. Offenbar ereignete sich die Explosion bei Instandsetzungsarbeiten an einem Tank.
Der Chef der EU-Grenzschutzbehörde Frontex hat die libysche Küstenwache für ihr hartes Vorgehen gegen Flüchtlingshelfer im Mittelmeer kritisiert. Gegenüber den Rettungseinsätzen internationaler Hilfsorganisationen trete Libyens Küstenwache zum Teil aggressiv und gewalttätig auf, sagte er in einem Zeitungsinterview und forderte Verbesserungen. Klar sei allerdings auch, dass das nordafrikanische Land in der Lage sein müsse, Schlepper bereits an der Küste zu stoppen, sagte der Frontex-Chef weiter.
