Hallenhockey
Namibias Hockeydamen sind Hallenhockey-Afrikameister. Die Mannschaft setzte sich in Swakopmund sensationell im Finale mit 2 zu 1 nach Shootout durch. Zum Ende der regulären Spielzeit hatte es 3 zu 3 gestanden. Damit nimmt die namibische Damenauswahl an der Hallenhockey-Weltmeisterschaft teil. Bei den Herren unterlag die Auswahl Namibias im Finale knapp mit 1 zu 2 den Südafrikanern.

Fußball
Zum Auftakt der Fußballmeisterschaft des Südlichen Afrika konnte Gastteilnehmer Tansania die Mannschaft Malawis mit 2 zu 0 besiegen. Im zweiten Spiel des Tages trennten sich Mauritius und Angola 0 zu 1. – Namibia wird als eine der besten sechs Mannschaften des Südlichen Afrika erst im Viertelfinale am 1. Juli in das Turnier eingreifen.
Fußball
Gastgeber Russland ist beim Konföderationspokal ausgeschieden. Die Mannschaft verlor ihr letztes Gruppenspiel gegen Mexiko mit 2 zu 1. Damit sind die Russen nur Tabellendritter der Gruppe A. Portugal überrannte Neuseeland mit 4 zu 0 und steht ebenso wie Mexiko im Halbfinale. In Gruppe B trennte sich Deutschland von Kamerun 3 zu 1, während Chile gegen Australien 1 zu 1 spielte. Somit trifft nun am Mittwoch Portugal auf Chila. Einen Tag später bekommt es Deutschland mit Mexiko zu tun. – Deutschland veror bei der U21-EM in Polen sein letztes Gruppenspiel mit 1 zu 0 gegen Italien. Als bester Gruppenzweiter ist Deutschland dennoch im Halbfinale und spielt gegen England. Spanien und Italien bestreiten das zweite Halbfinale, ebenfalls morgen.
Formel 1
Sebastian Vettel konnte seine WM-Führung ausbauen. Der Vierfachweltmeister fuhr als Vierter, einen Rang vor seinem ärgsten Konkurrenten Lewis Hamilton durchs Ziel. Das Rennen gewinnen konnte Daniel Ricciardo vor Valtteri Bottas und Lance Stroll.
Tennis
Der Schweizer Roger Federer hat das Rasenturnier von Halle in Westfalen gewonnen. Er setze sich im Finale glatt gegen den aktuell besten deutschen Tennisprof Alexander Zverev durch. Julia Görges hat das Finale auf Mallorca ebenfalls verloren.
